It was set up by the Government of Rajasthan through the Mewar University Act, 2009 (Act No. 4 of 2009) and is located near Chittorgarh, Rajasthan.
Mewar University is promoted by the Mewar Education Society (MES) and governed by a Board of Management constituted by the Society. The Board is headed by Chairperson Dr. Ashok Kumar Gadiya.
The university is an autonomous institution established by the Government of Rajasthan. Its campus is situated approximately 25 km from Chittorgarh, amidst the scenic surroundings of the Aravalli mountain range, and spans a vast area of 30 acres.
Mewar University offers residential facilities for nearly 3,000 students and provides a well-rounded campus life with modern infrastructure. The campus includes top-notch hostels, a hygienic mess serving quality food, sports facilities, a fully equipped gymnasium, and a university hospital with excellent medical services. Ensuring student safety, the campus is monitored by over 500 CCTV cameras and is known for being a clean, green, and secure environment.
